Dr. Giorgio Freschi
He gained his PhD in Chemical Biochemical and Ecotoxicology of Pesticides in 1996 from Cattolica University of Milan. With more than 20 years of experience in agro-chemical companies, his main areas of expertise include chemical, agrochemical, biopesticide, biocide and pharmaceutical products testing, supporting the registration dossier according to official guidelines (OECD, OPPTS, EPPO) and Good Laboratory / Good Experimental Practice (GLP/GEP).
His knowledge permits a smarter evaluation of products performance and their positioning on the market. His decades long expertise in research, registration, marketing and commercial areas supports customers in development of innovative products. He is highly expert in management and development of Contract Research Organisations (CROs) and improvement of their quality system: GXP and ISO certifications.
Dr. Emma Mazzeil
She gained her Master of Science in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Naples Federico II in 2008. She then worked for several biotech companies around Italy till 2009 when she was awarded a three years National Council Research (CNR) fellowship to work as senior researcher in microbiology focusing her study on microbial fermentative processes for active substances discovery.
She also worked in several industrial biotech companies gaining relevant experiences in the development and optimization of new fermentative processes, the downstream process and in the identification, by chromatographic techniques, of bioactive molecules produced by specific microorganisms.
She worked as production manager on the isolation of high value-added products, such as enzymes and secondary metabolites, and microbial biomass.
Dr. Stefano Zucchinaly
After a bachelor degree in Molecular Biotechnology, Stefano Zucchinali received his M. Sc. cum laude in Industrial Biotechnology in 2010 from the University of Milano-Bicocca working on heterologous expression, homology modeling, molecular dynamics and structural characterization of novel enzymes. In 2011 he moved to a private CRO where he joined actively the research and development team.
In 2014 he became project leader and in 2016 technical and innovation manager, i.e. head of the research department. In these roles he supervised and actively worked in several EU-funded projects (FP7: Kyrobio and BIOOX, Horizon2020: Tascmar) and was responsible for customer-related activities.
His main skills are heterologous expression and purification of enzyme and peptides in different hosts, biostimulant production by enzymatic hydrolysis and development of innovative biochemical industrial processes.
